Imatib is a medication that contains 400 mg of imatinib and acts as a kinase inhibitor. It is used to treat various conditions, which include:

• Adult patients with aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM) without the D816V c-KIT mutation, as determined by an FDA-approved test, or with unknown c-KIT mutational status.
• Adult patients with hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) and/or chronic eosinophilic leukemia (CEL) with FIP1L1-PDGFRα fusion kinase, or with unknown or negative FIP1L1-PDGFRα fusion kinase status.
• Adult patients with unresectable, recurrent, and/or metastatic dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP).
• Patients with KIT (CD117)-positive gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) that cannot be surgically removed and/or have spread to other parts of the body.
• Adult patients who have undergone complete removal of their KIT (CD117)-positive GIST after surgery.

Imatinib DOSAGE

Imatinib doses vary depending on the specific condition. The recommended doses are as follows:

• For adults with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CML) in the chronic phase (CP), the dose is 400 mg/day.
• For adults with Ph+ CML in accelerated phase (AP) or blast crisis (BC), the dose is 600 mg/day.
• For pediatric patients with Ph+ CML in the chronic phase, the dose is 340 mg/m2/day.
• For adults with relapsed or refractory Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL), the dose is 600 mg/day.

• For adults with unresectable, recurrent, and/or metastatic dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), the dose is 800 mg/day.
• For adults with metastatic and/or unresectable gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), the dose is 400 mg/day.
• For adjuvant treatment of adults with GIST, the dose is 400 mg/day.
• For patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment, the dose is 400 mg/day.
• For patients with severe hepatic impairment, the dose is 300 mg/day.

All doses should be taken with a meal and a large glass of water. Doses of 400 mg or 600 mg should be taken once daily, while 800 mg should be taken as 400 mg twice a day. Patients who have difficulty swallowing can dissolve Imatinib in water or apple juice. If a daily dose of 800 mg or more is required, the 400 mg tablet should be used to reduce exposure to iron.
