Lapatinib should be taken at least one hour before or one hour after a meal, while capecitabine should be taken with food or within 30 minutes after food. It is important to take Lapatinib as a single daily dose and not divide the dose.

The dose of Lapatinib should be adjusted in case of cardiac and other toxicities, severe hepatic impairment, diarrhea, and CYP3A4 drug interactions.
