WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS (SIDE EFFECT)

1.Gout Flare: An increase in gout flares is frequently observed during initiation of anti-hyperuricemic agents, including ZURIG (ULORIC). If a gout flare occurs during treatment, ZURIG (ULORIC) need not be discontinued. Prophylactic therapy (i.e., non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug [NSAID] or colchicine upon initiation of treatment) may be beneficial for up to six months.

2.Cardiovascular Events: A higher rate of cardiovascular thromboembolic events was observed in patients treated with ZURIG (ULORIC) than allopurinol in clinical trials. Monitor for signs and symptoms of MI and stroke

3.Hepatic Effects: Post marketing reports of hepatic failure, sometimes fatal. Causality cannot be excluded. If liver injury is detected, promptly interrupt ZURIG (ULORIC) and assess patient for probable cause, then treat cause if possible, to resolution or stabilization. Do not restart ZURIG (ULORIC) if liver injury is confirmed and no alternate etiology can be found.

4.Serious Skin Reactions: Post marketing reports of serious skin and hypersensitivity reactions, including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) have been reported in patients taking ZURIG (ULORIC). Discontinue ZURIG (ULORIC) if serious skin reactions are suspected.

    Works nice

My doctor told me for a few years that I would have to take a pill everyday for the rest of my life to avoid it. I refused and fought it off with the regular pills when it flared up. After struggling with gout for several years it had reached a chronic condition leaving me on crutches every other week. It had become so bad I thought bones were breaking. Turns out it was just even more intense gout attacks. Finally I raised the white flag of surrender and agreed to take a pill everyday for the rest of my life. After some research I decided on Uloric. I have been taking one pill a day every day for the past 3 years and I have not had a single gout flair up. But the brand one is expensive, so I change to the India Generic from Bonhoa Pharmacy. It works the same, but price only 1/10. Thanks a lot!
