LUPRODEX 22.5 (LEUPROLIDE 22.5 MG) contains Leuprolide, which is classified as a Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) Agonist. It is prescribed for the palliative treatment of advanced prostatic cancer, aiming to relieve symptoms and minimize associated suffering.

Advanced prostatic cancer refers to a cancerous condition that originates in the prostate gland and spreads to other parts of the body. Common symptoms include painful urination, decreased urine pressure, blood in the semen, bone pain, leg swelling, and weakness.

Avoid using LUPRODEX 22.5 (LEUPROLIDE 22.5 MG) if you have a known allergy to Leuprolide, GnRH, or GnRH agonist analogs.

Prior to receiving this medication, inform your doctor about any existing liver or kidney impairment, congenital long QT syndrome, congestive heart failure, frequent electrolyte abnormalities, metastatic vertebral lesions, urinary tract obstruction, or diabetes.

• COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
• Coronary artery disease (heart disease) characterized by angina (chest pain)
• Cerebrovascular accident/transient ischemic attack (life-threatening events related to impaired heart function)
• Pneumonia (a life-threatening lung disease)
• Second primary neoplasm (cancer), including basal cell carcinoma, lung neoplasm, bladder transitional cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS:

Headache:

• Rest and drink plenty of water
• Avoid alcohol and skipping meals
• Minimize screen time to prevent eye strain
• Consult your doctor if the condition persists or worsens

Dizziness:

• Lie down until the dizziness passes
• Get up slowly and avoid sudden movements
• Get plenty of rest
• Walk slowly and carefully
• Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoking
• Consult your doctor if the condition persists or worsens

Constipation:

• Increase intake of high-fiber foods (fruits, vegetables, cereals)
• Drink plenty of water
• Regular exercise (daily walk or run)
