Trifluridine/Tipiracil Dose

During each 28-day cycle, the recommended dosage is to take 35 mg/m2 orally twice daily with food on Days 1 through 5 and Days 8 through 12.

Trifluridine/Tipiracil side effects

TIPANAT carries the risk of severe and potentially life-threatening side effects, such as low blood counts. This medication may decrease your levels of white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets, making you more vulnerable to serious infections that could be fatal. Before starting TIPANAT, your healthcare provider will perform blood tests, on day 15 of treatment, and as needed to monitor your blood cell counts. If your white blood cell or platelet counts are low, your healthcare provider may adjust your TIPANAT dosage or discontinue treatment.

During TIPANAT treatment, it is important to contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience signs of infection, such as fever, chills, or body aches. Inform your healthcare provider of all medical conditions, including kidney or liver problems, and if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. TIPANAT can cause harm to unborn babies, and women of childbearing age must use effective birth control while taking this medication and for six months after the last dose. Males must use a condom during sex with female partners who can become pregnant while on TIPANAT and for three months after their last dose. Breastfeeding is not recommended during TIPANAT treatment and for one day after the final dose.

The most common side effects of TIPANAT are fatigue, weakness, nausea, decreased appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever. If you experience severe or persistent nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, notify your doctor.
