Pazonat 400 ( Pazopanib 400 mg)

Pazopanib 400 mg, also known as Pazonat 400, is a type of kinase inhibitor prescribed for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) in adults who have undergone prior chemotherapy. It's important to note that the effectiveness of pazopanib 200 mg in treating adipocytic soft tissue sarcoma or gastrointestinal stromal tumors has not been established and thus its use is limited in such cases.

Pazopanib dose: 

1. To be taken orally, 1800 mg of the medication should be consumed once daily, without food, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

2. If a person has moderate hepatic impairment, they should take 200 mg of the medication orally once daily.

Pazopanib side effects management

Pazopanib may cause a variety of side effects, including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea (experienced by roughly half of all patients), as well as changes in hair color, hypertension (which typically occurs in the first few weeks of treatment), loss of appetite, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, electrolyte imbalances (such as hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, and hypophosphatemia), abnormal laboratory test results (including increased levels of AST, ALT, and protein in urine), edema, hair loss or discoloration, altered taste, abdominal pain, rash, fatigue, and bone marrow suppression (including leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, and lymphopenia). In rare cases, it has been linked to potentially fatal liver damage.
